Representatives of the Legal Development Network (LDN)<\/em> and the Ukrainian National Bar Association (UNBA)<\/em><\/a> discussed the directions of their future cooperation.<\/p>\n

The meeting participants were Vadym Krasnik<\/strong>, Head of the Secretariat of the Council of Advocates of Ukraine (Secretariat of the Ukrainian National Bar Association)<\/em>, and Antonina Bondarenko<\/strong>, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Council of Advocates of Ukraine (Secretariat of the Ukrainian National Bar Association)<\/em>. The LDN<\/em>\u00a0was represented by the executive director of the union Yevgen Poltenko<\/strong>, manager for organizational development Liudmyla Savchenko<\/strong> and communications manager Sergii\u00a0Rybak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The participants of the event agreed on conducting joint advocacy campaigns, in particular on further work on improving the draft law N9055, on information exchange and dissemination of information materials.<\/p>\n

They also supported the initiative to hold a joint event during the All-Ukrainian Week of Law, organized by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine<\/em><\/a> (December 10-16, 2018).<\/p>\n

It is anticipated that further cooperation, among other things, will include the participation of the LDN<\/em>\u00a0lawyers in association activities, as well as the participation of Network representatives in the implementation of UNBA<\/em>\u00a0training programs.<\/p>\n

In addition, the meeting participants agreed to work together to increase the level of personal security of human rights defenders, including lawyers.<\/p>\n

Also, the ways of cooperation on the development of school mediation have been identified.<\/p>\n

It is planned that by the end of November 2018 the Legal Development Network<\/em> and the Ukrainian National Bar Association<\/em>\u00a0will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held on November 6, 2018.<\/p>\n
