83 days of russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Since the Legal Development Network began collecting charitable contributions under the #StandWithUkraine program, more than 25 philanthropists from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Cyprus and Ukraine have responded to the call. The smallest donation reached USD 1.5, and the largest – more than USD 3,000. Each of them is important because it is part of a great cause – helping people and saving lives.
In March, USD 3,604 of the funds raised was transferred to the purchase of fuel for the delivery of humanitarian goods by the volunteer association Ukraine Alive 2022.
In April, dry borsch sets worth USD 3,107 were purchased. 921 packages, each of which allows to prepare 2.3 liters of borsch, were received by the neediest residents of the released from the occupation Boromlyansk, Trostyanetsk and Okhtyrka communities in Sumy oblast, Velyka Dymerka community in Kyiv oblast. And in May, these kits will be distributed to the Novgorod-Siversky community in Chernihiv oblast and Chernihiv city. Each of these communities has been marred by war, and has a large number of damaged buildings and destroyed infrastructure, where there is often a lack of electricity and gas. Therefore, providing instant food should make it easier for their residents to take care of themselves.
‘It is also assistance to social entrepreneurship. Dry borsch sets are made by displaced persons together with locals in Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. The technology allows you to get a nutritious meal in just 10 minutes by pouring boiling water over the mixture. They distribute their product as volunteers, for example for the Armed Forces, and sell it on a paid basis’, says Vitalii Okhrimenko, Program Director of the Legal Development Network.
We continue to raise funds, which we will also use to support the work of the partners of the Solidarity&Justice coalition, the volunteer organization Ukraine Alive 2022.

Volunteers of Ukraine Alive 2022 often say, ‘There is no day off in the war, and we will not stop, we will rest after the victory.’
Chernihiv and settlements of the oblast, villages and towns of Kyiv oblast, such as Nove Zalissia, Nebrat, Berestianka, Peremoha, Shybene, Olizarivka, Gruzke, Kalyta, Hostomel, Pechenihy in Kharkiv oblast, and also Kharkiv itself, Lyman and Slovyansk in Donetsk oblast were damaged. This is not a complete list of cities, towns and villages to whose residents Ukraine Alive 2022 volunteers delivered humanitarian aid in April and early May. Food, clothing, medicine, hygiene products and other essentials. In addition, they continue to collect food and pet care. The wards of the National Circus of Ukraine have already received such assistance.
It seemed that often incredible things with Ukraine Alive 2022 are becoming a reality. In almost a week, 5.5 tons of aid were collected for residents and defenders of Sloviansk, Donetsk oblast. and 2 tons of cargo (per day) for victims from the Chernihiv Oblast. USD 62,150 was raised to support the organization’s activities following a series of charity auctions World Sports For Ukraine. Famous Ukrainian athletes donated their belongings to collect these funds: T-shirts with autographs of Shakhtar players and coaches – Taras Stepanenko, Mykola Matvienko, Anatoliy Trubin, Mykhailo Mudryk, team coach Roberto De Zerbi and others; professional playing shoes of football players Oleksandr Zinchenko, Andriy Yarmolenko with the inscription “Stop War” and their autographs; bronze medal of karate player Stanislav Gorun from the Olympics in Tokyo.
