Support free legal aid in Ukraine
When the war takes away a home, a paycheck or a family member, the next blow is often a legal one. A compensation claim gets rejected. Benefits stop without explanation. A debt that was paid off years ago comes back to collect.
The Legal Development Network (LDN) is a network of 22 Ukrainian civil society organizations that has provided free legal aid since 2009. Every month, thousands of people across Ukraine solve their legal problems with our lawyers, including in frontline communities in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, where help is hardest to reach.

A story behind the numbers
In 2016, Roman (name changed) paid off a consumer loan in full. Years later, he found that his bank accounts had been frozen to collect the same debt again. The bank had closed, the debt had been sold three times, and a notary had issued an enforcement order without a court hearing.
Oleksandra, a lawyer at one of our member organizations, rebuilt the loan’s history from Roman’s own documents and proved in court that he owed nothing. The order was declared unenforceable.
The sum was modest. The principle was not. Your support makes cases like this possible, one person at a time.
