Representatives of the Legal Development Network and the Ukrainian National Bar Association defined ways of cooperation

Representatives of the Legal Development Network (LDN) and the Ukrainian National Bar Association (UNBA) discussed the directions of their future cooperation.
The meeting participants were Vadym Krasnik, Head of the Secretariat of the Council of Advocates of Ukraine (Secretariat of the Ukrainian National Bar Association), and Antonina Bondarenko, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Council of Advocates of Ukraine (Secretariat of the Ukrainian National Bar Association). The LDN was represented by the executive director of the union Yevgen Poltenko, manager for organizational development Liudmyla Savchenko and communications manager Sergii Rybak.
The participants of the event agreed on conducting joint advocacy campaigns, in particular on further work on improving the draft law N9055, on information exchange and dissemination of information materials.
They also supported the initiative to hold a joint event during the All-Ukrainian Week of Law, organized by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (December 10-16, 2018).
It is anticipated that further cooperation, among other things, will include the participation of the LDN lawyers in association activities, as well as the participation of Network representatives in the implementation of UNBA training programs.
In addition, the meeting participants agreed to work together to increase the level of personal security of human rights defenders, including lawyers.
Also, the ways of cooperation on the development of school mediation have been identified.
It is planned that by the end of November 2018 the Legal Development Network and the Ukrainian National Bar Association will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.
