The initiative “Housing Bank” has begun to implement in the communities of Lviv oblast with the support of the LDN

Lviv oblast is one of the regions that receives the largest number of internally displaced persons. In the Kamianka-Buzka community alone, 700 IDPs have been officially registered. Due to the need to create a register of free housing within the LDN #StandWithUkraine humanitarian program, the LDN member organization, Charitable Foundation “Perspective New” has launched the initiative “Housing Bank of Lviv oblast”.

Over the next three months, the organization will collect information on available accommodation for internally displaced persons, monitor and update information on the availability of communal and private housing, and set up a hotline to advise and provide resettlement information on affordable housing.

The initiative is implemented in Kamianka-Buzka, Dobrotvir, Zhovtanets, and Novoiarychiv communities.

Today the organization already has information about vacant communal housing. In the near future, it will be supplemented by the opportunities of the private sector, in particular, in the community districts.

In addition, Kamianka-Buzka has the opportunity to create housing for 11 families without a limited period of residence. The premises are in communal ownership and are already partially renovated.

«We need to find funding to equip the rest of the room. In general, the city council is interested in implementing this project. Potentially, this can be organized in neighboring communities, where there are also such premises» – Andrii Korbetskyi, coordinator of the #StandWithUkraine program in the Lviv oblast.

The implementation of this initiative has become possible thanks to the support of International Renaissance Foundation, Charles Stuart Mott Foundation, DLA Piper Foundation and Legal Empowerment Fund (program Fund for Global Human Rights). We are convinced that by working together we will be able to strengthen each other and help as many people as possible who need it.
